RETRIP CASE STUDY

This case study is about transport apps, which link two interesting fields - transportation and business. In order to prepare me and my team have focused on Polish transport apps.

CHALLENGE

The initial app had a lot of problems in terms of UX, Customer Journey and UI. Our goal was to understand what is exactly wrong with the original app and to propose a new solutions.

MY ROLE

I was involved in whole process since UX phase and problem definition. I’ve conducted an UX/UI Audit of the orginal app. As a part of the audit I’ve facilitated Usability Tests.

Team: 4 UX/UI Designers

PROJECT SCOPE

MOBILE PAYMENT TRENDS

The first step in this analysis was to understand the market and make some business assessments. We included some statistics in our initial research.

PAYMENTS IN TRANSPORT

According to the “Influence of Mobile Payment on Bus Boarding Systems” report, users choose mobile options of payment due to their quick and easy process. This is especially visible in countries with high technology usage.

USER TESTING

In order to map the Customer Journey, we decided to perform User Testing based on the existing app. The study consisted of three different tasks. Below you can find the outcome of those tests.

CUSTOMER JOURNEY

We managed to confirm the key issues that have been mapped during research phase. This led to changes in the Customer Journey.

DIGITAL TRAVELLING

The last step in this process was to put all of the insights together in the form of a user-friendly design. Our goal was to provide a clear way for users to manage all of their tickets and journeys.

PARKING NAVIGATION

As an additional feature, we felt that having a little help might come in handy. An AR-based navigation tool for finding your parked vehicle improves the quality of the parking experience.

ACTIVE NOTIFICATIONS

Notifications solve the issue with having too little control over parking and tickets. Whenever a ticket is close to being expired, the system will automatically notify the user about it. It is also possible to extend further options straight from the action menu. This also covers the problem with having active parking while driving. The app will send a notification whenever a movement is detected.

WIDGET

Our goal was to make the app usage as fast as possible. This widget is like a shortcut for the most valuable app actions. Users have full control over their tickets and parking on the home screen.
